@chriscathell@megbasham@AmericanaFan1 What she does every day, all day is not sustainable for her soul or the health of her family. Not possible. There are no fruits. Only discord and nastiness all the way down.
@megbasham Your remarkable lack of self awareness is incredible. You wrote an entire book doing all these things you call "post-liberal." But that was okay because it directionally felt right according to your politics.
@thisisfoster It bothers me that you so casually and flippantly throw out "repent." The author of the review simply has a different opinion than you about a book, no one needs to repent for anything here.
@Matt070173 I guess I don't quite understand - objectively speaking, dispensationalism is the "innovative" theology in the covenant vs dispy debate. So it doesn't quite follow that they are the guardians against innovative theology. It's a very 19th century phenomenon...
I facilitate a financial literacy course hosted by my church (not Dave Ramsey) for those in material poverty. None of what he said here is inaccurate or something I haven't heard myself.
Journos/politicos dunking on this are telling on themselves (they don't know poor people).
SCOOP: 'Sabotage' is what allies of Darren Bailey are calling Ted Dabrowski's new venture. It's the latest revelation in the Illinois GOP divide. https://t.co/Uue1gv3FUl via @politico
Just straight outta the gate with three bald faced lies.
There's no way China won't clean our clock on this too eventually with ppl like this running things. Sigh...
Data centers spike utility bills, pollute our air, & drain our clean water.
Mayor Johnson created a blue ribbon committee. I’m taking action with an ordinance to immediately require community oversight, add environmental enforcement, & ban some data centers altogether.
I'm sorry but if I was Orange Crush leader, I'd set up a camera on the Crush during game, feed that into AI and have it score every members fanatacism. If they get a bad score, written warning. Happens again? You're out. Next man up.
@RaphealDavis3 ...right....that's actually exactly what I'm saying. It's about winning. You for real don't get it?
If so, that makes a lot of sense for you, as I said.
@RaphealDavis3 DUDE, c'mon. If the same coaches and programs were competing against each other over a pool of talent that was 30% less talented, there would still be winners and losers and sellouts.
Are you being intentionally obtuse?
What don't people understand about a self-selection bias? Public edu = every kid. Private = self selecting for 1) involved parents who care, 2) economically advantaged families, or 3) both.
Yes, public ed has to be responsible for every child, the good, bad and unruly.
I worked in museum education for a time, which meant I worked with K-12 school groups from all five boroughs.
The differences between public and private school kids shocked me. Like, shook me to my core.
- private school 3rd graders who could sit and talk about art vs. 10th grade public school students who could barely read
- private and charter school students who'd walk quietly down a hallway vs. public school teenagers who screamed at each other and tried to swat the smoke detector off of the ceiling
The behavior and academic ability of these students would vary of course, even within their school types. But when you host a bunch of schools of all kinds from across the city, you start to notice patterns.
Such a blackpill for me on the city's public education system.
