For fans of NHS discharge data - just looking at the new (or more accurately newly published) discharge ready date metric. Is the difference to the numbers we get on "remaining in hospital who no longer meet the criteria to reside" - that their DRD could be set afterwards?1/

This sounds like it would effectively be the same. But the performance looks better? I make % No. of patients no longer meeting criteria but remaining 55.6% for England on an avg. day for Oct - but new dataset says 86.4% discharged on same day as DRD 2/

Latest trajectory of the long wait cohorts - to give some context to the slight improvements in 52/65 weeks for September's data. Target by March 2024 for the latter has been looking unlikely for a while of course.

BREAKING: NHS waiting list hits new record high of 7.8 million, latest data reveals. Rise in list size was smaller than recent months - up 26k between Aug & Sept. However, it still means list has grown every month since PM made pledge in Jan to have waiting list reducing by 2024
