I definitely wandered around there for a few mins but maybe I'm missing exactly what you mean when you talk about this guy

@GibsonTomgibo @SmalePerry Nice work taking the time to do this. We spoke at the start of the year as to how 200 birds/year in the UK is far from a normal target. Maybe you appreciate how much of a time investment getting these huge lists are? It's far from a casual goal like Birdwatching mag implies

Who doesn't love some birding stats, so here's the scores on the doors for my 3rd and final year of listing. A pivot of my French/UK birds shows how 2nd half of year just stopped dead. It's been a REALLY grim 6 months. Then comparison to my 2023 and 2022 lists respectively.

@karleburford Oh yeah I agree 100% I pointedly didn't say hi to any of the hunters when my other friends did. Friendly enough but absolute scum, anyone who hunts. It's just less depressing seeing them picking up corpses of the imported birds taking over our countryside than woodcocks

When I took the pictures today I thought maybe woodcock but I think it's actually a female pheasant.

We ran into a hunt about 40-60 mins after this in the cotswolds. First time I've seen one and it is depressing but at least they were mainly collecting pheasants
