A random Saturday nearly exactly a year ago today, I suffered a little scratch that took me out for the rest of the 2024 #Rugby season... OK truthfully I blew out my #Achilles for the second time as it never rehabbed properly the first time - we still won that four-quartered preseason game and finished the 2024 season with a 6-4 record in 3rd place at @SoCalRugbyUnion D2 semi-finals (only to lose to the division's eventual national champions actually)!!!

Thank you to all who have supported my #leadership journey, especially now that I'm in @QuanticSchool's @ValarInstitute program!!!

It was an honor to have served as an officer with @SFV_Rugby... and any #medical colleagues want to guess the technique that was used to stitch me back together?! 🫡

I've always been interested in quantum technology, but yesterday was a milestone - @Google announced development of Willow (https://t.co/GxI5Ib1F1J), their new quantum chip as a starting point that will likely upheave reality as we know it... it apparently performed a computational task that would take a modern SUPERcomputer 10 septillion years (that's a 10 followed by 24 zeroes 🤯) IN UNDER 5 MINUTES!!

Given that current limitations in Artificial Intelligence and other advanced technologies are largely due to hardware constraints, this completely slams open the door to civilization-defining evolution even revolution. These advancements can be either pro-human or socially destructive depending on how this kind of power is wielded.

That said, I'm starting this newsletter to explore quantum technology and its social implication on human prosperity. Quantum is derived from Latin, and Auxilium further means "to help," however I chose to use Oxelium to capitalize on oxen's symbolic meaning of dedicated strength and perseverance in helping humanity.
