Federal court in New Jersey has not granted New Jersey's request for injunction blocking congestion pricing. Court told Federal Highway Admin to do some more paperwork, but left its approval standing. The legal pathway for congestion pricing to start on January 5 is now clear.

Down! US coal consumption fell ~62% from its peak of 1.125 billion tons in 2005 to 425 million tons in 2023.

As US coal consumption plunged, US coal production plunged. it fell from its peak of 1.171 billion in 2008 to 577 million in 2023.

Fifteen years devastated US coal.

Plug-in EVs reach 54% in August of China's auto market, world's largest. ICE down to 46%. Wow!

BEVs: 530k sales +19% year-on-year.
PHEVs: 440k sales +97% year-on-year.

Gasoline accounts for ~26 million barrels per day of oil, and EVs are coming for it.
