CABINET REPORT ON THE BELL 430 HELICOPTER ACCIDENT AT KUDENGA FARM, 30 SEPTEMBER 2026
Cabinet received an update from Honourable F. Mhona on the Bell 430 helicopter crash at Kudenga Farm, Mashonaland East, on 30 September 2026. The Zimbabwe-registered Z-PED aircraft, operated by Sky Helicopters, was on a private flight from Gandami to Marondera when it crashed, tragically killing all five occupants: Pilot Captain Calvin Soda, Mr. Wicknell Chivhayo, Ms. Lucy Muteke, Ms. Sanelisiwe Magagula, and Captain Courage Mutavira. A full investigation was instituted under Annexure 13 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation and the Civil Aviation Act. Preliminary on-site investigations are complete, with the wreckage recovered to the Government Hangar at Charles Prince Airport for detailed forensic examination, including by international experts. A comprehensive report is expected within 30 days.
