To be Jewish has meant experiencing a crushing disappointment in the world since the Hamas attacks that started this war. A stray line in one of the many articles about the Bibas family today unintentionally offers a crystal clear explanation for that disappointment. “For many Israelis,” The New York Times writes, “the story of the Bibas family has become a symbol of the brutality of the Hamas-led Oct. 7 attack.”
That sentence is accurate. But in another universe, one where the “international community” cares a whit for justice and human decency, the sentence would read this way: “For everyone, the story of the Bibas family has become a symbol of the brutality of the Hamas-led Oct. 7 attack.”
In such a world, the faces of the Bibas children would be everywhere at all times. In the world in which we live, by contrast, posters with those faces get torn down from bulletin boards. In the kind of world we hope to deserve to inhabit, no children’s charity or NGO would go a day without drawing attention to Kfir and Ariel and the monsters who stole them.

In regard to last night’s raising of Allegheny County property owners taxes, this agreement was worked out without any effort to find a consensus with council. It’s a lose-lose-lose scenario.
The County Executive loses any claim to credibility after first hiding this presumed fiscal crisis from council, then compelling county employees and vendors to vouch for her claim that they’d be laid off and programs cut without a 46 percent hike, and then when she reaches a lesser figure that includes expanded programs.
Council members lose because they’re being asked to vote for a tax increase just months away from the next Primary. Voters are going to notice the fact that these increases are likely to hit harder than advertised and are going toward new social programs that do nothing for them but fit with the executive’s woke agenda.
And the biggest losers, of course, are the county’s taxpayers. When their household budgets run short, they cut back on spending. Any time politicians raid the cookie jar, it’s someone else who ends up with the stomachache. That would be the homeowners of Allegheny County.
The unpleasant truth is that this administration came out of the gate spending recklessly. Sara Innamorato’s first official act was to issue pay raises that nobody requested. Her explanation was worrisome: she said it would give the public sector unions a higher floor from which to seek raises of their own.
At the same time, the County Executive has expanded her staff and handed out hefty raises to her incoming staff. One example is her communications chief who received a $15,000 raise that puts her salary above $150,000. That’s double the median household income in Allegheny County – and when we say household income, that’s accounting for more than one breadwinner. If they want to dispute these assertions, they can do so by opening the books. That’s more than they have done with council while asking people here to vote for tax increases.
The administration has an obligation to release a list of staff and their salaries so the people of Allegheny County can see whether they are being asked to fund politicians and their retainers in lifestyles most working families here cannot afford themselves. It’s time to stop treating the working families of Allegheny County as peasants whose only function is as a source of income for the governing class.
Swimmer Riley Gaines, who was forced to compete against biological male Lia Thomas, has testified before a Va. House Subcommittee.
It is good to see women speaking out against the unfair advantage biological males have in competitive environments.

But she's funding activists to make sure you can't own as gas stove.

Unfortunately, there will need to be a big event where grids fail, countless lives are lost and property damage is extreme. When that happens the public will finally wake up and demand we face energy reality.

Embarrassed for your fan base…be better. If you can’t, sell ur team to somebody that wants to show the fan base and baseball they’re at least trying to compete. Sorry unacceptable
So just to get this straight, the Biden administration's response to the Ukraine invasion is to exempt oil and natural gas from sanction, leave the Russians in SWIFT, and say nothing to the Chinese about isolating Russia. And Biden admits this will likely have no effect.
This is the Woman that was trampled by the Trudeau Regime’s police on Horseback.
She is an Indigenous elder
Does Trudeau think she is a racist with “unacceptable views”?
We should stop referring to "the issue of trans women in sports," and start calling it "the issue of males in female sports."
This debate has nothing to do with *being trans* and everything to do with male athletes being allowed to compete in a protected female-only category.
