Wow.
Speaker Mike Johnson gives glory to God, reminding everyone that our dependency doesn’t rest in the government, but in God.
“You see those words up there? It says, ‘In God we trust’… it doesn’t say in government we trust, it says in God we trust.”

The White Rose

John Boyle O'Reilly
1844 – 1890
The red rose whispers of passion, And the white rose breathes of love;
O, the red rose is a falcon, And the white rose is a dove.
But I send you a cream-white rosebud With a flush on its petal tips;
For the love that is purest and sweetest Has a kiss of desire on the lips.
Great request! I’m a huge advocate of fasting and believe more Christians should do it as a spiritual discipline, especially in these critical times.
Start with a 36-hour fast (this covers three days as the Jews counted days in Christ’s time; think of His death, burial and resurrection.)
Day 1: Fasting begins after dinner.
Day 2: No breakfast, lunch or dinner. I allow myself one small cup of coffee in the morning—black only—to avoid headaches; drink as much water as you want at any time during the day.
Spend mealtimes reading your Bible and praying. The Holy Spirit will help you get through the day while the flesh whines!
Day 3: I break the fast at 7 am with a light breakfast that’s easy on the stomach, such as whole oats with raisins, slivered almonds and honey. (I try to stick with organic foods, as fasting cleanses the body.)
Try vegan meals to finish the day to go easy on the stomach.
Then back to cheeseburgers and fries the next day! 😄
Do the 36-hour fast periodically until your body gets used to the denial of food and comes under more control by the Holy Spirit. Then try longer fasts using the same pattern.
The most I’ve ever fasted is 84 hours. It’s a wonderful experience when it’s over. Blessings to you!
@sater_terry Well said, Terry! I’ve been waiting for the dismantling of the bloated government behemoth since Reagan. Now we’ve got someone in the White House who can do the job. God bless Donald Trump!
