Consumers are getting relief from easing food inflation. The #CPI categories for groceries (food at home) and restaurants (food away from home) have seen annual price growth slow to the lowest level since 2021. Grocery prices are up only 1.0% Y/Y.
Less than 2 years ago, the aggregate bond index had a lower yield than the S&P 500. At present, the gap is wide. The Agg bond index yields 4.7% and the S&P 500 has a 1.6% yield. For income focused investors, #stocks are less attractive compared to #bonds.
