We’re behind the scenes with Eric Ruderman, MD (@JointMD), Irene Blanco, MD, Anisha Dua, MD (@Anisha_Dua), and Carrie Richardson, MD (@CLRichardson312), as they discuss updates in #rheumatology for an upcoming Better Edge podcast episode. Please share your thoughts on what topics you think will be covered in this episode!
The rheumatology workforce shortage poses significant challenges to patient care, with predictions of a drastic mismatch between demand and available providers. Laura Arneson, MD, and Brian Jaros, MD, highlight contributing factors like rising disease prevalence, insufficient training funding and increased retirements, particularly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This shortage results in longer wait times and limited access for patients, especially in rural areas. At Northwestern Medicine, we’re implementing initiatives to combat clinician burnout and enhance patient care through mentorship and dedicated nursing support. Learn how:

Young previously sued the Trump campaign to stop them from using it.
Thanks to the Arthritis Foundation for giving me the opportunity to discuss some of the myths about arthritis and its management.
