1. DSM & diagnosis changes every decade. Older autist’s problems ignored or asylum.

@roryreckons 3. Allistics must step back & observe not judge. Any guidance must follow subtle cues from individual autistic. Anything else whatever start point is wrong. But then they’d have to bin industrial education. Lucky we can teach ourselves 😁

@roryreckons 2. Yrs being told ‘you lazy’ when ‘taught’ despite some evidence of top of class if left alone meant I took 3 tries at Uni to get confidence then develop own strategies. Power of own methods then took me from gross fail to top of masters program over 11 years /3.

And safe to say that thoughtful autists on the internet know more abt autism than the above mentioned…

@OT_Expert Identify just as ‘autistic’. If more needed for professionals, self identifying position on the ‘autism spectrum’ is useful but imposed ‘functioning levels’ demeans. Any list of challenges must be put alongside our positives at SAME TIME to talk to us or assist effectively.

He has avoided every opportunity to send a new message to men.
