.@AESIndiana: As a rate-paying customer, I'm outraged your lobbyists at @Edison_Electric attempted to block @EPA's common-sense limits on power plant pollution. Stop using money from MY energy bill to kill critical climate action. #UtilityMomentofTruth
Just sharing this to send a message to @burgessev that Indiana might SEEM 'bright red' but the reality is the gerrymandering has so far skewed the red/blue numbers that who really knows!? For all we know the majority might be independents or even Democrats https://t.co/MAwUReZ3Rf
If you think a single can of beer, a rainbow display at a department store, or some diversity training at your favorite chicken joint is a greater threat to society than a goddamn assault rifle, congratulations - you are an idiot and an asshole.
For the last time, corporate greed, not wages, is driving inflation.
Last year, corporate profit margins reached over 15% – their highest level since 1950.
Meanwhile, wages have struggled to outpace inflation.
It’s time for the Fed to stop putting the blame on workers.
Due to the income cap on Social Security contributions set in 1983, the typical CEO making millions running a big company only pays taxes on $160,200 worth of their income.
Meanwhile, the typical teacher or nurse pays taxes on every single dollar they earn.
How is this fair?
So, white folks enslaved Black people, segregated them, lynched thousands of them, created racial profiling and the racist War on Drugs, and begin moving when only 8% of a neighborhood becomes Black. But Black people are the "hate group?" And we should stay away from them? Mm-k.
Tomorrow the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments for the case that's trying to kill your student debt relief.
Here are the oligarchs posing as a small business group to prop up the case:
-Charles Koch, $59 billion
-Bernie Marcus, $8.3 billion
-The Mercers, nearly $1 billion
It is frankly astonishing to read about how billionaires can get away with paying a lower tax rate than teachers, nurses, and firefighters.
Is this really the kind of country we want to live in?
@RBReich Wikipedia entry on how 'the rust belt' got its name: unions and lack of competition. Total lies. And it references the 'Center for Quantitative Economic Research' and Congressional 'Office of Technology Assessment' to back it up.
When Republicans are in power, they rack up giant deficits, mainly by cutting taxes on corporations and the wealthy.
Then when Democrats take the reins, Republicans blame them for being big spenders.
It’s always the same story.
The same Republicans complaining about the deficit voted for $1.9 trillion in tax cuts that primarily benefited the wealthy and corporations.
Their hypocrisy is staggering.
Happy Friday.
Trickle-down economics is a cruel hoax. Cruel because it's used by the super-rich to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. A hoax because nothing has ever trickled down.
