@elonmusk@fahdananta@LorenaSGonzalez Imagine claiming to represent the best interests of your constituents and driving tens of thousands of jobs and hundreds of billions of tax dollars out of your state. Not a partisan statement. Simply a case study in behavioral economics.
@zerohedge@NickNemo17@grok Where does ARCC trade in relation to its book value? Why would the manager sell stock at a deep discount to its own determination of fair value instead of selling assets?
@JTLonsdale Had to disentangle this post from Rickie Sandler from Eminence throwing in the towel today. Lots of respect for all who fought in the arena, experienced success beyond their wildest dreams, and overcame adversity.
Just curious. I read the company continues to produce $200mm in EBITDA - same as at the 2021 acquisition. Debt was a unitranche and PIK has taken total debt to $3 billion. Original purchase price was $6.4 billion, or 32x EBITDA if the information was correct - silly price to pay. So the debtors take over at 15x now? This seems reasonable - not cheap, but reasonable. Could the debtors get out whole at the end of the day?
@PatGarofalo@grok What was the GDP of Minnesota in 2022 and 2023. What percent of state GDP do the $2.19 billion and $1.5 billion in 2022 and 2023 represent, respectively?
@DeItaone The Street expects $181 billion in FCF through the 1/2027 fiscal y.e. 50% is ~$90 billion. At today's px, that would buy ~500 million shares. There are 24.3 billion shares outstanding. So, if it is all spent on buybacks, it reduces share count by ~2%/year.
@MNupdate Most BDCs, which trade publicly at 20-50% discounts to 12/31 NAV, have significant overlap to the fund manager's private credit vehicles. These are managed by most of the large PC/PE shops. Who is going to sign up for a new private fund with billions of BDCs at deep discounts?
@tatereeves AI isn't going away. Consumers will demand their AI agents just as they value the Google search box today. Data centers are roughly 90% more efficient in conducting inference tasks than performing that activity on PCs or mobile devices at the edge of the network. Build away!
Thereโs a project in Florida near my house. The potential for higher electricity costs seems to be tertiary. Rather, the opposition is focused on water usage - odd, because there is copious amounts of water just feet below ground level in Florida, and โvibration.โ Can you provide insights into either/both of these concerns?
@Libltrd@dollarsanddata Only 47% of Florida homes are homesteaded. Those would receive the benefit. The counties assessing real estate taxes currently would have took look at reductions in service, increasing the tax rate on non-homesteaded properties, and likely a modest bump in sales tax.
