Lots of misinformation here.
We had a local hotel contracted for months - they did not hold up their end of the agreement and never blocked the rooms, per the agreement. We found this out at the same time Ole Miss did when we tried to contact the hotel as well and got no response.
Ole Miss also requested 25 additional rooms above the NCAA-required block - not uncommon, but there was no shot that the hotel which already didn’t block the contracted rooms could then also come up with 25 more.
In order to accommodate the larger room block request, we suggested another hotel option that had more availability + a sister hotel in a shared parking lot. This provided much more than the rooms being requested. This provided 34 rooms at one hotel and additional as at the adjacent property.
This was solved within 6 hours of being made aware of the issue.
Alabama star Aden Holloway was simply in the process of bringing a pound of marijuana to a teammate. He was not aware that the action had criminal implications.
Expect Holloway to suit up for the Crimson Tide in the NCAA Tournament.
Gen Zers and millennials are swimming in student debt and may never own homes, but they’re splurging on gut-healthy juices and rotisserie chickens. https://t.co/16ctTPmmLp
I’ve loved Auburn my whole life. Phillip Marshall was the first sportswriter I can remember seeking out his newspaper articles. He deepened my love for football. War Eagle Mr. Marshall
It is with tremendous sadness that we share the passing of the incomparable Phillip Marshall — a friend, mentor and Auburn legend https://t.co/tbCLpo2D9h
I’m confident that AHSAA Executive Director Heath Harmon and the governing board will be remembered for extinguishing the flame of competitiveness and abandoning any effort at simple fairness and good sportsmanship under their watch.
Rather than allowing CHOOSE act students to retain their eligibility, as the law requires, Harmon and the AHSAA have opted, instead, to segregate our public and private schools, which is punitive, wrong, and just plain hateful.
The coaches participating in this boneheaded decision care only about winning championships, not about the high school athletes they are supposed to serve, the lessons about sportsmanship they are supposed to teach, and the simple respect and dignity that students and their parents deserve.
Again, I like Nate Oats. But he's being purposefully misleading here. NCAA has ONLY 3 rules for eligibility:
1. Within 5 years of HS graduation
2. Never played in an NBA game
3. Never signed an NBA contract
No one currently eligible has done any of the 3. Charles Bediako has
Was a clear sky this am, now this. Didn’t Florida ban spraying chemicals in our sky’s? We need to ban it nationwide. There is no way that water vapor would stay that long in the sky.
We only won the games we did because of the talent we had in spite of the coaching. Take away the talent, but have better coaching, expect more of the same. This new staff hasn’t done anything to prove themselves…so far.
Losing Cam sucks, but folks… the last two seasons we went 5-7 and we have 5 straight losing seasons.
Portal isn’t open yet and we have an entire Spring and Summer to get right, rather judge a guy based on the game results.
