Yesterday, I paid a courtesy visit to Rosefoam Mattress Manufacturers in Mbalala, Mukono, to assess the performance of industrialization in Uganda in line with the NRM Government agenda to monitor and assess how far the NRM Manifesto 2021-2026 and now 2026-2031 on industrialization is being implemented on the ground.
I was received by the management and staff of Rosefoam, one of Uganda's leading indigenous manufacturing companies, and taken on a guided tour of the factory, from production lines to warehousing and quality control sections.
I commended Rosefoam for its immense contribution to Uganda's industrial transformation, job creation, and import substitution.
The Roseform factory is a clear testimony that the NRM's policy of promoting local manufacturing is working. When H.E. the President talks about industrialization, value addition, and import substitution, this is what he means. Rosefoam has moved from a small Ugandan enterprise to a regional brand competing internationally.
The NRM government, under the stewardship of H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has deliberately created a conducive environment for industrial growth through peace and security, improved road infrastructure, electricity, industrial parks, and incentives for local investors.
I was impressed that Rosefoam employs around 700 Ugandans directly and thousands indirectly through its supply chain, including farmers who supply raw materials and distributors across the country.
This is the socio-economic transformation H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been preaching. Every mattress made is a job saved for a Ugandan youth, skills transferred to our people, and money staying in Uganda instead of importing.
I reiterated the government's call for Ugandans to embrace the Buy Uganda Build Uganda (BUBU) policy to support the local manufacturers instead of importing similar products.
For God and my country!
Yesterday, @pdpoUG ruled against @Google LLC for violating Uganda’s Data Protection Act by not registering as a data controller and transferring Ugandans’ data abroad without safeguards. A historic win for digital rights, ensuring tech giants respect our laws! #GoogleMustComply
Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) promises transformation for service delivery in LDCs like Uganda. I shared some thoughts on why we should harness its potential now and how - via @DailyMonitor#DPI#DigitalPublicInfrastructure

At #DataPrivacy2025, I challenged the lack of institutional accountability in data protection. Our recent concerns about @Google coupled with the @pdpoUG's inaction highlight a troubling gap. Rights and trust mean little without enforcement and timely action.
Before the lapse of this year, I owe myself a special treat, vacation with myself and myself alone.
I'll sit down and appreciate myself for the patience and resilience in approaching challenging and provoking situations.
I'll take a deep breath, and congratulate myself!
The weekend of 5th October 2024, we had a successful sickle cell awareness campaign in SIGULU islands, I was joined by my good Kenyan counterparts @Fred_Makajos and @OkothMarende together with a 28 man delegation from Kampala. The SIGULU fraternity remains grateful.
