SpaceX builds rockets. Rockets run on chemical propulsion. Chemical propulsion has a ceiling.

It can reach Mars. Maybe deeper into the solar system.

But interstellar travel requires physics that doesn’t exist yet.

Weinstein: “You can’t get to the stars using SpaceX because it’s a chemical rocket company.”

The ceiling isn’t the universe’s. It’s ours.

Weinstein: “One of his slogans is ad astra, to the stars.”

To the stars. From a man who knows better than anyone that his rockets can’t reach them.

You don’t declare a destination your vehicle can’t reach unless you already know what replaces it.

The rockets were never the endgame.

Weinstein: “I think he’s given up on the corruption of science. He keeps talking about the fact that he doesn’t like the term researcher, he believes only in engineers.”

The breakthroughs that would get humanity past chemical propulsion should have happened decades ago.

They didn’t.

Not because the physics is impossible. Because the institutions responsible for discovering it optimized for everything except discovery.

Grant cycles. Tenure politics. Citation metrics.

The entire incentive structure of modern science rewards safe, incremental work and punishes the kind of risk that produces breakthroughs.

The system isn’t broken. It’s working exactly as designed.

It was just never designed for discovery.

Musk looked at the entire global scientific establishment and decided it was faster to build a mind that could do the physics than to fix the institutions that wouldn’t.

That calculation alone tells you everything about the state of modern science.

Everyone sees xAI competing with OpenAI and Anthropic in the chatbot race.

Weinstein is saying it was never in the chatbot race. It’s in the physics race. The one nobody else is running.

To understand the universe.

SpaceX is the vehicle. xAI is the destination.

One builds the ship. The other discovers how far it can go.

The distance to the stars was never measured in light years.

It was measured in the limits of the mind reaching for them.

The most ambitious project on Earth right now isn’t a rocket program.

It’s an AI being built to find the physics that makes rockets obsolete.

In the last few hours alone Andy Burnham’s Government has talked about:

Cutting energy bills
Lifting the personal tax allowance
Nationalising Thames Water
The biggest council house programme since the War
Giving mayors more funding
Creating a new National Care Service
More overseas aid
Cutting student loan repayments
More employment support
Ending homelessness

These are billions of pounds of spending commitments and that's on top of raising defence spending to 3%.

Where’s the money coming from?

There’s been no serious explanation at all of how they will be funded. I am very concerned the Prime Minister is making a lot of promises without giving the country an explanation about how we can afford them.

We cannot borrow even more - we are paying more in debt interest than we do on defence.

The answer can’t be tax rises either. The tax burden is already far too high, and families and businesses shouldn’t face even higher bills.

The only answer is to cut spending. Andy Burnham should be in Parliament explaining what his actual plans are and how he is going to pay for them.

I wish Andy Burnham every success as Prime Minister. But it is my job to hold him to account.

Every announcement he makes should be properly funded. We cannot borrow more money and the tax burden is already too high, so the only answer is spending cuts.

I will work with him in the national interest to find savings from the benefits bill. If we reach agreement, my Conservative MPs will vote for those cuts in Parliament. That's the way to get Britain working.

Hot take: If you have a pronoun designation on your business card, Americans don't like it.

Maybe 10% do, but the other 85% to 90% think it's nonsense.

In 2024 there were 10 transgender athletes competing in high school sports across a country of 330 million people.

I'm an inclusive person and I genuinely don't care about any of this personally.

But Trump took those 10 people and spent $150 million advertising them to swing state voters and it worked.

That shows that Americans don't like woke culture.

They don't like being told every Hollywood movie needs a representation checklist.

This is a socially conservative country at its core, even if those same people want their government services and Medicare left alone.

Trump understands that better than anyone on the political stage.

The Democrats genuinely don't know what's happening.

And until they figure it out, they're going to keep losing the culture war to a guy who reads the room better than all of them combined.
