If you think that an accidental hair pull endangered the safety or was an example of excessive force or brutality then there is no hope for you. Obviously the Hwang tackle before the Keane red does meet the threshold though

@wolvesdave @andyroden @chrishughes_22 No. If you do those things whilst challenging for the ball you can't be sent off for violent conduct. You would have to be sent off for serious foul play. That's what the law says (note your original post supporting rules being applied). Keane was sent off for violent conduct.

@paul_worton @DaleJohnsonBBC Its irrelevant to the application of the law. However, it is no different (in terms of trying to challenge for the ball) than what Keane's other arm does (grabbing the shoulder).
