The fact Canada is the only nation setting up home base in Canada during the @FIFAWorldCup is a missed opportunity. We need more midsized stadiums and training infrastructure in our country.
Was looking at how every team in the second round acquired its players. Obviously still waiting to see if it is Tampa Bay or Montreal, but of the seven teams already through.
Trades.
Lots of trades.
Not as many draft picks.
Here's some PR 101:
1. This is already public knowledge, so I'm not sure why it's an off-limits topic.
2. By neglecting to talk about a story that everyone already knows about, you make that story even bigger, which is the exact opposite of what you want to do.
3. If they don't want to talk about it, that is 100 percent absolutely their right and prerogative and should be respected. But Azzi is very capable of expressing that desire herself. If a spokesperson steps in, that — again — makes it a bigger story.
The first rule of medicine, of PR, of life, is do no harm. There are better ways to handle this, IMHO.
I’ve covered the Masters since 2005. What makes it so special? Well, plenty. But here’s the best explanation I can come up with: It’s the only place you’ll ever go where everyone is exactly where they want to be. DisneyWorld? No way. Family wedding? Doubtful. But Augusta National during Masters week? You won’t find a single person who’d rather be somewhere else. Add in the device-free environment and it makes for such a unique dynamic that you literally won’t find elsewhere. Everyone is just happy to be where their feet are.
There have been two days in NBA history, spanning 80 years, where at least nine games were played with an average margin of victory being at least 24 points.
Only two such days. In 80 years.
One was yesterday.
The other was Sunday.
Either these photos are staged, or these guys have no idea how to play Catan (or both).
Settlements right next to each other?
Everyone has a million roads??
Red is building toward a desert and Orange settled *next to* a port???
Long, long overdue (though I don’t know if this exists elsewhere). Gotta assume the Blue Jays’ World Series run shone a particularly bright light on this.
NEW - The Ford government will outlaw selling tickets for more than face value. It says new legislation to soon be tabled would make it illegal for tickets to concerts, cultural, sports and other live events in Ontario to be re-sold for more than their original cost.
Really cool moment tonight postgame after VCU upset UNC. VCU head coach Phil Martelli Jr. made a point to shoutout the student reporters that made the trip.
Lots of great stuff this time of year, but this was a really awesome, genuine exchange.
