Congratulations to our colleagues in the mission of @RwandaInGeneva on occasion of the 30th anniversary of Rwanda’s entry into the World Trade Organization. This year also marks the 60th anniversary of Rwanda’s accession to the GATT. 🎂

Rwanda participated in the meeting of the General Council of the @wto, where Members exchanged on key priorities for the multilateral trading system and the follow-up to #MC14.

In the national statement, Amb. @urujeniB congratulated Amb. @CKellyNZ of New Zealand on assuming the Chairmanship of the General Council and expressed support for the Chair’s transparent and Member-driven approach to guiding the Council’s work.

The statement also highlighted the importance of sustaining momentum on development, LDC priorities, WTO reform, e-commerce, fisheries subsidies and agriculture, while supporting strengthened cooperation between the @wto and the @_AfricanUnion, including the AU’s request for observer status.
