Born and raised in Edison, NJ by my Italian family, but I like warm weather so I moved down to Orlando, FL first chance I got. That's where I call my home now.
@ussoccerfeed He only played in one World Cup. He was more of a character than a player. He scoffed at his college team (Rutgers) in a recent documentary. Criticizes players who achieved more than he did. Yeah, it's real hard to understand why people don't like him.
@dingilusberrius@ussoccerfeed He was literally on the worst team in the Serie-A. To say just because you were playing in the Serie A in the 90s made you a good player is a ridiculous statement. He was nothing special. Sat the bench through the entire 98 World Cup.
@The_Kitsman Yes they do buy new kits, but not all fan bases. If you go to sports stores they will carry new kits for each season. The quantity is just much less then you might see in the UK.
@ten_tele@JuventinaHannah Again, please provide your source. This quote from Pele was from after the tournament. There is nothing to suggest it was specifically about the final and not the whole tournament. He also returned to the National Team well before, and played in 6 qualifiers.
@SerieAScout_@PatVella18 Even odder is the fact that it’s for every other Euro21. Italy has only done well in the Euros when qualifying didn’t count, which is why they haven’t been to the Olympics since 2008.
@ten_tele@JuventinaHannah Please provide me with the source of that ridiculous “50%” statistic. Brazil was was a pre tournament favorite, here’s a quote from Pele:
@JuventinaHannah Let’s see if they mention how Italy’s semifinal match against Germany was called the “Game of the Century”. They were heroes, but that Brazil team was great.
