@RodericDay I had these ahistorical-brained clowns pinned back when I was like 13. How you can be an adult and be an anarchist at the same time is such an intense white boy contradiction that it still leaves me nonplussed whenever I meet/see these people
You know how Losurdo contextualizes into the lives of Nietzsche, Heidegger, Hegel, etc.?
That's him doing the opposite of what Naziphilic analytical philosophers teach these days: abstract the philosophy and pretend the philosopher's politics are irrelevant to understanding it.
1895, Qing political legitimacy collapses. 1949, modern China is born. That's a period of almost 55 years. We westerners have a long, exciting road to travel!
Before the Opium War of 1839-1842, the Qīng government still possessed considerable authority and legitimacy. The peasantry and the petty-bourgeois literati generally held the ruling class in high esteem. However, after the Opium Wars, and especially after the First Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, this political credibility collapsed.
Three factors need to be considered in the decline of the Qing dynasty. First was the opium trade, which drained the circulation of silver and created economic hardship. Due to imperialist aggression, the government was forced to compensate by increasing taxes, which increased their economic hardship. Finally, corruption became rampant, and officials were collaborating with foreign interests, which further led to loss of public trust in the state.
@RodericDay I taught a business English class here in China last semester and was really struck by how different business Chinese is.

@RodericDay I've made a point since I found Marxism 5 years ago to challenge most everybody I know in America to think about class consciousness/anti-imperialism and anti-imperialism and in 99% of cases they either hate me or cut ties with me.
These people are beasts.
@RodericDay We are talking about a society that produced the show Lucifer. A direction interpretation of the phrase "Sympathy for the Devil"
It's imperialism that's turned them into animals who only understand the carrot and the stick. A completely blunted consciousness people.
Man I feel this in my own life. And in reading @solzhenidiot I know we are the same. Lonely Dragons. At least we both get to talk with the @RedSailsOrg group from time to time.
"There are so many good comrades within our Party. Many of them have even given their lives for this cause. Without them I, Mao Zedong, am nothing but a lone dragon."
@uncle_authority Palo Alto by Malcolm Harris has an entire genealogy of where these freaks come from.
Great perspective on the most recent 150 year history of anglo-imperialism
