New paper out today!
@JosephTanas used multidimensional analysis (PCA + k-means clustering) to quantify behavior in #Angelman mice. This approach can be used to help evaluate AS therapies preclinically.

Columbia BME is the place to be!
Yesterday we welcomed our newest class of graduate students and are excited to see what they will learn @CUSEAS to build a more Healthy Humanity
After an incredibly difficult decision process, I am beyond excited to announce that I will be attending Columbia University in the fall to pursue a MS in Biomedical Engineering specializing in Neural Engineering!
Our new paper is out!
We quantified overnight EEGs to develop biomarkers for ongoing and upcoming clinical trials for Angelman syndrome.
Take home: Delta⬆️in AS during wake and during all sleep stages. Sleep studies are hard, wake EEGs work great!

2-photon imaging goes freely-moving! We are releasing @TheMini2P, a 2.4g portable #twophoton 🔬 for fast multiplane calcium imaging of 1000s of neurons in behaving 🐭! Fully open-access. Now it is time to study natural behaviors! By @WikiZong et al @KISNeuro#KiloNeurons#ERCSyG
I designed this experiment fall semester my first year in grad school, and now it’s finally published 🥰. This project got me so excited about science, and I still think about it all time! Here is the link with free access for 50 days

EEG technology carries racial bias. Traditional systems don't work with thick and curly hair. Researchers at CMU are working to change that.

I designed a neural decode algorithm (MINT) with @MarkChurchland. Very excited to team up with @BlackrockNeuro_ who will use MINT to restore movement to patients with paralysis! Huge thanks to collaborators @schroeder_ke, John Cunningham, and Qi Wang. Video demo in thread (1/4)
