Netflix: You want to watch a 10-hour movie?
Me: What? No. Absolutely not. Are you insane?
Netflix: What if we break it up into hour-long episodes and you watch them all in one sitting?
Me: You son of a bitch, I’m in.

Log4j maintainers have been working sleeplessly on mitigation measures; fixes, docs, CVE, replies to inquiries, etc. Yet nothing is stopping people to bash us, for work we aren't paid for, for a feature we all dislike yet needed to keep due to backward compatibility concerns.
@AFilletOfFish thats not horrible I guess. There is an argument to be made that people need to go dual stack first and this may help enable that. Still the bottom of the bucket though
The security implications if 127.1.0.0 - 127.255.255.255 becomes Internet routable is hard to quantify. It feels wise to err on the side of caution and not..

@hecksadecimal That’s absolutely not the case there are so many levels of government you can make change at. It’s just your lack of will to participate. I think the only way I can end this is with what if? What if apple does do whatever it is you’re scared of? What are you going to do about it?
This whole Apple scanning your photos thing has really taken off and it’s such a good example of people FREAKING out without much information on what is going on. So I decided to dig in. This might be a long thread
