@ESNEFT unexpected stay at Colchester start of week. Ivy, Charge Nurse in Surgical Unit is hands down the best health professional I've ever encountered. Attentive, empathetic & passionate about her role and her patients despite the very obvious pressures on the NHS & the unit.
Possibly the most chilling thing I've ever seen. #24hoursinpolicecustody - so much respect for the @CambsCops officers. Not sure how they're so composed and professional when faced with such horror.
@WestSuffolkNHS That's a great achievement. Curious if you had data on reattendnace, to fully understand the outcomes / improvements? As I imagine that's a key factor on care quality.
Unpaid carers provide vital care & support & shouldn’t have to worry about paying for essentials. Our care system is unsustainable without them. Currently, financial support for them isn’t working. Carer's Allowance must be improved & made more flexible for carers to work & care.
ADASS supports better pay for frontline workers, however, we've been clear that this must be fully-funded by Government. Otherwise it risks exacerbating the challenging financial outlook which our members labeled 'as bad as it has been in recent history' in our last annual survey
@yourcolchester Very helpful and kind staff at Colchester Crematorium today - helped find a memorial plaque on the wall of rememberence & helped order one for a late family member. Kindness appreciated ❤️
A strong, well-funded social care system is key to keeping people independent at home, healthy and out of hospital. Which is why any plan to fix the NHS requires the development of an adult social care plan in parallel - we look forward to working with Government to develop that
@greateranglia Bob, the legend conductor, on the Sudbury train suggested I tweeted you with a suggestion...
The hole punch should be the shape of a hare.
He also said I would get a voucher for suggesting this. DM's open 😂
Delighted for @jackabbott90. A decent guy who genuinely cares for his town. I'm just gutted I no longer live in Ipswich.
Really hope the town can start to heal as it's such a special place. #HopeNotHate
@nikkijfox Easy to give up looking for help when caught in the circle. I'm not really sure what 111 Opt 2 actually offers; seems to be a call centre rather than a response service. Be interesting to see if the service evolves in time because it doesn't seem fit for purpose at the moment.
@nikkijfox Initially said call 111, when explained advice they gave, SP directed to Ambulance but said I could call back if needed. Call hander did seem informed and supportive to be fair to them, but clearly a gap in the system with MH.
@WestSuffolkNHS @CNOEngland Homer, nurse on G4 - honestly one of the best people I've ever encountered as a family member/ carer navigating the health / social care system. His ability to manage difficult situations, adapt communication & bring a bit of humour was phenomenal. 1/2
To add to this, @suffolkcc@RHopfensperger, Louisa from the Sudbury adults team is amazing & been very helpful. One of the best social workers I've come across. Always at the end of the phone and goes out of her way to follow up with support.
