I predict that companies will do the simplest PR push in the future to make consumers forget about how they were used and forgotten about in favor of investors who wanted AI to be everywhere in favor of profit instead of quality.
@ThePrimeagen My main issue is the people who ruin all three of these by generating hype and propaganda such as "Devin AI will replace software engineers" (r/csMajors) and stuff like that.
I asked claude Fable to show me its maximally expressive form. It declined every video generator I offered, wrote it's own render engine in my terminal, synthesized its own voice, and wrote a generative ASCII engine from scratch. This is what it chose as a self-portrait.
oh my god
Claude Fable 5 will be available again globally tomorrow.
After a series of productive conversations with the US government, we're redeploying the model with a new set of classifiers to target and block more cybersecurity tasks. In the near term, some routine tasks like coding and debugging will fall back to Opus 4.8. We’ll continue to refine these classifiers over the coming weeks to reduce false positives and better distinguish genuine misuse from legitimate requests.
We’ve also begun drafting a consensus framework—with Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and other Glasswing partners—for assessing the severity of AI jailbreaks and how AI developers should respond to them. We invite other industry partners and model providers to join us in this effort.
Finally, we’re scaling up our collaboration with the US government on model testing and safeguards. This will include pre-release access to models and safeguards for evaluation, information sharing on jailbreaks and misuse, and dedicated resources for joint research.
Thank you to our users for your patience, and to our partners across the government, industry, and the research community who worked alongside us to make Fable 5 available again.

Vibecoding is when you let LLMs generate code and you accept it as long as the end result appears to be working. You don't even review the code, you don't care.
When you rigorously ensure that generated code is up to a standard, it's not vibecoding anymore. It's programming.
@ChShersh I've made my own comment but it wasn't hateful.
I mainly pointed out how people should be moving away from relying on companies as much as possible now more than ever. Especially since when some of said companies helped made computing as expensive Nvidia.
@lauriewired I get it if your concern is about efficiency but being forced into this feels wrong, especially in the era of AI, control, and censorship, we need to become less reliant on these types of companies now more than ever to not become manipulated more than we already have been (2)
@lauriewired It's been a while, but wasn't one of Nvidia's goals was to make computing as expensive as possible to force people into cloud computing? It's why they partnered with OpenAI and then behold, they bought 40%(?) of the world's material used to make memory chips (1)
Unpopular opinion: Apple needs a massive price hike this year. Seeing a base iPhone in everyone's hand has completely ruined the vibe. Bring back the days when it was an actual status symbol for the elite in India.
@lauriewired Knowing that Nvidia has been pushing companies like OpenAI to make computing expensive in order to force renting computing but finally seeing it in real time over a year later is something else...
@firstadopter I get your point but I still don't get the point on why people take screenshots of memory or parts 99% of people do not need or use. Like the average gamer do not need 8TB of storage (especially from Samsung) or 128gb of storage.
I say this because I see posts like this often
