I’m a general contractor just north of there, in Encinitas. We mainly do kitchen and bath renovations and TI projects.

I also invest in real estate in Indiana, where I’m from.

I usually post about construction, RE, taxes and cars.

Why do people reverse into parking spaces?

At first it was one or two misdirected fools, now it's spreading like a disease.

It makes no sense. You are only making it so much harder for yourself, and everyone hates you as you block the road trying to get into the space.

Is there a bigger sign that you are a dumb tourist (for men) in any given third world city than shorts? It could be 30 C and locals are all in jeans. You wear shorts from Cairo to Mexico City and wander into a shop, suddenly a 150% Yokel Tax is applied on all goods.

@JulieChangRE @Shehmeerkanwar You’re not wrong, but it should have been done long ago before the long term became the short term. Prelims must go out at start of work otherwise you only have a 20 day look back period.

No one deserves to get screwed, but I’d be curious to know if the prelims were sent.

@JulieChangRE @Shehmeerkanwar Liens absolutely work. They can’t get progress payments or financing with a lien in place. This is what resolved my other comment.

@JulieChangRE I learned this early from a friend’s business. We do billing every two weeks due immediately. Lien shortly after.

Unfortunately, they’d owe him so much that he was scared to cut them off because that might delay payment further. 😭
