One of the worst decisions made by @networkrail to an already poorly managed station, by replacing its main departures screens with a hideous and overly distracting advertising screen.
A before and after comparison - @GarethDennis@NetworkRailEUS#Euston#LondonEuston
@dog_gem@BenTrainDriver@LNER@railadventureen@DavidHorne I believe the LNER services to/from Bedford will replace a EMR path(s).
The MML is such a bottleneck around the Leicestershire area thanks for track removals back in the โ80s.
Nice to see @LNER running clearance tests on the Midland Mainline, courtesy of @railadventureen
This will allow LNER services to continue to run, during periods of engineering works on the ECML.
Itโs the joint up thinking and coordination that we love to see. @DavidHorne
@BenTrainDriver@LNER@railadventureen@DavidHorne Someone who was involved in previous testing into LST commented that there were clearance and capacity issues here.
I understand the MML diversions will allow LNER to terminate at Bedford, not St. Pancras. Pax will then transfer onto EMR or TL services for London.
@marcwebber I love how the high level lines are electrified in this graphic, too.
Itโs almost as if they *should* have electrified it from the get go. @GarethDennis
@ryanbate@railLKB@WestMidRailway Blackbox displays are good (the newer ones), however their text-to-speech announcements are absolutely awful.
WMT should have stuck with Worldline.
@greateranglia Morning.
Why is it that announcements are only made for Stansted Express and Norwich services at Liverpool Street, but other services arenโt advertised?
@greateranglia Thanks. A final bit of feedback but another issue is that the volume is set too low, which means anything being announced is hard to hear and sounds very tinny sounding.
@greateranglia Iโve historically been given conflicting information as to who manages the announcements here, whether it be Greater Anglia or Network Rail.
One response was that it was due to noise pollution, although that doesnโt explain why only a handful are still being announced. (2/2)
@greateranglia Hi. So this has been happening for several years at Liverpool Street now:
Many Greater Anglia services are not announced, as well as zero announcements for the London Overground services.
The only services which are regularly announced are the Stansted Express trains. (1/2)
@TheMurkyDepths Thameslink's network is too big. There's no need for them to go to North Kent, or places like Horsham, Sevenoaks or East Grinstead.
Leave that to Southern or SouthEastern, with Thameslink focusing on the Brighton Mainline and Sutton loop.
When it's hot and its the weekend, it is probably best to avoid using CrossCountry Trains, unless you want to cook yourself alive on one of their overcrowded trains... ๐ฅต๐ฅ
@BMLBod Just looking at their network map shows how complex their network is, with lines branching off all over the place, as well as several round loops. Everything also has to funnel in and out of Waterloo.
