Demand response programs make the numbers attractive. Still unlikely to outperform Bitcoin.

Agreed. However, $ABTC and manufacturers of ASIC miners are still focused on mining. The manufacturers have a ton of inventory they needed to monetize, their big customers stopped mining like you mentioned.
