@Catholic_bro Let me make this clear. I dont disagree that there CAN be redemption for those who didnt make it to heaven. My perspective is what you consider purgatory is hell to us. Rev 20 describes there being a second judgement for those in hades according to their works in life.

@Catholic_bro 1 corin 3 is making this allusion to this. Its not necessary to go through this "purgatory" because if Christ is your foundation, your house wont fall when tested by fire. If your house falls without Christ as the foundation, you are subject to judgement on the final day.

Your faith in Christ gets you to heaven, your faith through works will determine different rewards in heaven. A martyr will get a different reward than a bishop. Both go to heaven

@Moderatemuch Church fathers can both be wise about certain things and ignorant about others. Nobody is ever correct about everything. Even the apostles disagreed on things. We must measure every word spoken through the words of Christ and not submit to words of men but of God.
