@queerBengali Absolutely. Not voting is a choice and has consequences. Politicians respond to voters. Polls of likely voters and the general public often differ widely.
The most frustrating part about Adam McKay & others who flood lefty social circles with lies about Biden's economic record is that they're a big part of the reason Donald Trump still has any semblance of a political future.
But here's the *second* most frustrating part. (1/9)
“You can’t blame the voters”
I absolutely, 100%, can and will blame the voters for every election result that makes our country worse. The median voter in a red election is a terrible person.
They shouldn’t be absolved just because the better politician made campaign mistakes.
Local control in theory: marginalized people helping shape projects to better fit their neighborhoods.
Local in practice: professional-class white homeowners whining about how letting poor families live in their wealthy seaside town is going to make traffic worse.
@about_dave@mchowla Better metric is at night. We can't push for 100% clean in middle of the day until we're sure we can turn off natgas plants for days/weeks. To do that we need storage to push us into the evening, which is the whole point of Nem reform. Adding more solar wo 🔋doesn't help.
@about_dave@mchowla Dave is right. Ramp times for natural gas are usually 24-72 hours. Meaning we can't turn off natural gas plants unless we're sure we won't need them (even for one second) for 2-6 days. CAISO regularly orders solar to shut off in the middle of the day to maintain grid reliability.
@mchowla@about_dave@mhoeft @peterwjd0 Whole reason Nem 1&2 are lucrative is cuz they get export comp at retail. Solar customers typically don't avoid that much consumption because supply/demand are misaligned. They use export credits to offset consumption from grid, esp seasonally. That's the whole appeal of Nem.
@drvolts This is why door knocking is so effective but so utterly exhausting. The best way to flip these voters is to talk to them... One... By... One... 😬
Two things that are both true:
1) The Occupation and its routine cruelty towards Palestinians is at the root of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict
2) Hamas is an evil organization that did not have to respond by murdering civilians, and bears full moral responsibility
Second-biggest owner of Twitter is executing a man for his tweets.
Silence from the owner of Twitter, who is a self-styled ‘free speech absolutist.’ Not even a “concerning”.
@AaronGuhreen They do kind of have a point. AHF has gone off the rails and strayed from their core mission. He shouldn't be using AHF as a PR shield for his personal agenda.
