With our last post, we reiterate the terrifying reality: the #EU is demolishing its alleged founding values. We did our best to document the crimes committed on EU external borders & support survivors of #IllegalPushbacks, #torture & #BorderViolence. 👇

We are saddened that @JosoorNet, a leading migrants’ rights group based in Turkey and Fund grantee, has been forced to end their critical work documenting border violence along the Balkan migration route. Our statement: https://t.co/RWNUGUkC2z
For their indefatigable efforts to document border violence and support people on the move, @JosoorNet has been the target of persistent harassment, intimidation, and threats. https://t.co/RWNUGUkC2z
I never met @NatalieSGruber but was following the credible work of @JosoorNet monitoring border violations.I wholeheartedly know the difficulty of human rights work w/ a limited budged, a small team, severe pressures from so many sides. Sometimes you`re left with no other options
@JosoorNet, you will be missed. We hope each & every one of your team will be able to reload the batteries. We will do our best, partly and wherever possible, to fill the gap you leave behind & to continue the struggle for freedom of movement and fundamental human rights.

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our member organisation @JosoorNet who have taken the very difficult decision to close due to a number of pressures from many sides. The cases we have been tweeting about this last week are a stark reminder of the need for civil 1/
"“We thought humanity is dead, and then we found you.” #Josoor was, more than anything, giving hope that there are still some people out there fighting for fundamental human rights."
#Humanity is dying at #EU borders 🖤

A sad day for the monitoring of #HumanRights Violations. @JosoorNet achieved so much throughout their time and conducted such critical work supporting #Pushback survivors. A gap will be left behind in a very important field. #PushbacksAreIllegal#ShameOnEU
@Lauvergnac@FenixAid We couldn`t agree more. But if you read our statement, you will see why that is no longer possible for us here in Turkey.

The dissolving of Josoor is a worrying example of the damage caused by the clampdown of civil society in 🇬🇷 and 🇪🇺 at large.
