Project Hail Mary? Great.
The Invite? Great.
Obsession? Great.
La Bola Negra? Great.
Fjord? Great.
All Of A Sudden? Great.
The Odyssey? Great.
Everything else to come? I’m sure they’ll be great.
But for me, there’s only one film this year…
The intro everyone's talking about (rightfully, so)!
Hear from Brandon, a projectionist at Cinemark Dallas XD and IMAX, as he gives his IMAX 70mm pre-film intro before The Odyssey 👏
@you_were_my_bro@ddofinternet Yep! To be clear I'm not downplaying the practical work at all, the forced perspective stuff is brilliant, so is the 60ft cyclops puppet
My gripe is that practical effects almost always get praised *against* CGI, when in reality it's the marriage of both that makes the shot work
@TheMaddGodd@ddofinternet Why do we always have to put down CGI to acknowledge practical effects?
The forced perspective is genuinely brilliant, so is the cyclops puppet. But almost every shot of it actually moving is digital, and those teams worked together to make it seamless. Both deserve the credit..
"Absolutely zero AI was used." SavageCG reworked Blender's Metallic BSDF using 5,403 nodes and data from research papers, bringing over 30 physically accurate metal materials with more to come.
