It's time to stop treating menstruation like a taboo subject and start acknowledging it as a natural, essential part of life for half the population.
Period poverty is REAL.Women and girls shouldn't have to choose between basic hygiene and other necessities like food or education
5/ The night ended with a beautiful Gala Night—a celebration of resilience, achievements, and collective progress! 💃🏾 Women and girls, dressed in vibrant colours, rejoiced in the impact made throughout these days of dialogue. #AfWID2025#SisterhoodInAction
Day 4 – The Power of Diversity & Solidarity at #AfWID2025
1/ Day 4 at @AfWIDafrica was a powerful celebration of our diversity and culture! Women and girls from East, West, Central, North, and Southern Africa stood together in all their colours—united in dialogue, sharing common struggles, and shaping solutions for a better future.
2/4 Women leaders from across Africa came together to share experiences and strategies for increasing women's representation in leadership positions. Key takeaway: When women support women, we create unstoppable momentum for change in political leadership across Africa.
Today, the dialogue stopped as we held hands in honour of our sisters in Sudan, Mozambique, Eritrea, DRC, Somalia, Ethopia, in all of the Sahel region and everywhere women are navigating conflict.
Sisters, we see your resilience and we stand in solidarity!

🌼 Reflection Day 🌼
Today, we pause to remember Kelsey, a bright little girl from Burundi, taken too soon at just 5 years old. She simply wanted to play outside and enjoy her childhood, but that day was not safe for her.
