@SteeleRaptor Yes. OMA agreed to it in negotiations with the Ministry many yrs ago. If a rostered patient is in hospital and the hospitalist (physician taking care of patient in hospital ) is a family doctor, all their "family medicine" code are charged back to the pt's family doctor

Line-ups for family doctors are a reality across the province — the media only catches a snippet of what Ontarians are going through to get access to healthcare.
Due to initial difficulties rostering patients through Health Care Connect, clinics in Kingston also experienced line-ups a year ago. I have been in communication with these clinics and the Ministry of Health and clinics in our area all now pull new patients directly from Health Care Connect.
These lines should be @fordnation's wake up call — stop approaching our healthcare timidly, treat it like the crisis it is.

They don't have benefits... not even sick leave ... and must pay off their medical school debt ( often 200-300,000$) and save their own pension....

MDs need to take back control of OMA
We need to be working at the staff desks, within the engine of the organization
At a recent meeting, a contentious issue was raised. Senior staff said "its better if OMA staff meet with Ministry staff... then we can loop the MDs in..."
If elected, I will work to ensure MDs lead the conversations & set the tone of the work at the OMA
