@teachwellall Not about difficulty of papers. More to ensure that one year's results are equivalent to previous years. If students overall perform brilliantly it makes no difference – overall results have to be the same (norm referencing). Makes a mockery of idea of standards rising/falling.

It took him mere weeks to reach the top set, where he’s been ever since. We can risk letting children enjoy childhood a little longer.

@Alienwife99 @NickGibbUK @Sue_Cowley If we gave y5 children a test from y7 and then said they were falling behind people would think that we’d lost the plot, yet we expect a child who is 4 years and 10 months to meet the same standard as a child who is 5 years and 9 months old 🤷‍♀️
