Maybe state laws could be enacted to require an attestation by the program director/coach to limit minutes or create tournaments that shorten innings in games played in tournaments?
I just don't see it - need local MS and HS coaches to push parents on limiting participation?
@CoachSwit 1/2
It's spitting into the wind. You would need federal legislation - how do you restrict it legally? And if not with actual legislation, then you nee a movement to persuade people to reduce playing on travel teams. Who is leading that and making it succeed? Maybe MLB?

......working on things they are being asked to work on to make a move up. Who is telling them what they need to do? On-the-field matters, and I thought ANY move to the B10 was OUT after this past szn. But that's not what it looks like from the in-house reporting.
@Genetics56 1/2
The 2 programs are not close on the field at all right now, but it does not change the metrics. FSU has unrivaled TV ratings-a sure thing even when losing. The hospital move and academic moves - and the uncaring nature of the Coaches performance - actually suggest they are...
@JesseKellyDC No one should want that.
But if we are unwilling to employ the tactics that WON the major wars of the last century, then please stop claiming our guys lost wars (Vietnam, GWOT).
Our guys NEVER lose wars - the politicians either prevent them from winning or screw up the victory.
Final coach mtg for 25/26 szn! Missing several.π

@ClayTravis@WSJ Nature of the beast. My house is up 50% in the same time frame. My car is more than my 1st job out of college. If parents have the right mind set - this ain't for college, its for friendships, life lessons, getting better for HS tryouts - then it can be a worthwhile investment.
That Elite Private mentality. Students from Stanford, Duke, Northwestern and Vandy likely feel the same way.
Northwestern students have chanted similar to Illinois students in the past.
Conference of their own

Yes, mostly. But a lot of older people still have cable/satellite for some obvious rzs - the back button, login/buffer/update/logout, can't change platforms between games....and then stream is a lower definition than HD cable/satellite.

....3-4 games basketball games A DAY.....on asphalt in 100 degree heat!
Kids play gms. You can have organized ones w/ refs and scoreboards, or outside in the street, but no one is dying from too many games.
Strong argument regarding pitchers and baseball, but not basketball.
Two posts - thread below:
The narrative about kids playing too many games is not a legitimate one. YOU may feel overworked, the PARENT may prefer to go on vacation, but in 1985 you left baseball practice got on your bike and played the equivalent of.....
