The announcement yesterday from Dr Andrew Morrison that only a few of the War Widows, who relinquished their War Widows pension upon remarriage are entitled to the ex-gratis payment, in spite of the reassurances of Lord Harlech in May, has caused hurt and distress beyond words.

The promise was to look after those left behind. Our brave service personnel did not think that the government meant until they remarry and then the government withdrew their compensation. Those who remarried after 2015 keep their compensation payment. #wrongtimetodie
