The chairman of the party should not be insulting the intelligence of Republican voters. A debate was promised and these ridiculous criteria are being used to renege on that promise and to engineer a preferred outcome.
Why not just take 90 minutes, find a tv partner, and let the candidates mix it up?
The only reason why you wouldn’t is if the party hierarchy is serving outside interests instead of the best interests of the voters.
We don't care! Registered Florida Republican voters demand a debate. There are at least 4 candidates in that race that have qualified to be on the ballot and that have enough support from the base to debate. Don't date tell us that a Lt. Governor and a former Speaker of the House aren't serious contenders that shouldn't participate in a debate. I would allow all that have qualified to be on the ballot to participate in a real debate. It's only about 5 or 7 candidates or make the threshold for polling lower. The base feels disenfranchised. This is a bad decision by the @TheFLGOP. Just change the rules. It's really that easy. This is an extremely important election. We are replacing the most consequential conservative governor that Florida has ever had. Republicans need to decide who is best to carry Governor DeSantis's legacy. We want a real debate of ideas and issues! We cannot allow polls and money from special interests to be the deciding factor. Plus, 42.9% Undecided says it all. There are too many Floridians who still don't know enough about the candidates. Make it fair and allow a robust debate or the GOP will have a lot of reluctant voters in their hands come the general election.
🚨We need @GovRonDeSantis to SPEAK UP NOW and put a stop to these BS shenanigans from drunken @FloridaGOP chair Evan Power!
Or else you will have A LOT of PISSED OFF REPUBLICANS!
I've been in Florida for 5 1/2 years and if there is one thing I've learned it's that if the Miami Herald and Sun Sentinel are against something you favor, you're on the right side of history. When they come out attacking it, you know it's over the target.
NEW UPDATE!!
I can now CONFIRM that @browardschools indeed used school district funds to give a direct contribution to a political party to pay for entry into this event as well as pay for the advertisement.
To recap: A Broward Schools employee paid for, promoted and coordinated with a political party to help with a fundraiser.
Shameful.
Note to @FlaDems and @browarddems—make sure your campaign finance report reflects this improper and unethical contribution.
We will be watching.

This is the antithesis of feminism. It is a point of view that was suppressed for half a century. Now it is breaking out with a vengeance, while the feminists—some of them now in their eighties— watch in stunned silence.
Normal people on the Right can be disgusted with Rob Reiner’s politics, horrified by how he and his wife were killed and be disgusted with how @realDonaldTrump responded….all at the same time.
Former hostage Omer Shem Tov says Hamas was "very scared of" Trump: "They wanted Kamala to be elected."
"As soon as Donald Trump was elected, they understood that he wanted to bring us back home," he added. "So immediately, the way they treated me changed"
To all of the pastors who are not seizing what is a massive revival and expanding on this in your churches — why? Why are you scared to talk about this? WHY ARE YOU NOT STANDING IN THE GAP?
In the wake of Charlie's assassination, many people are demanding that we redouble our devotion to the "free marketplace of ideas." The call seems at first glance courageous and noble. In reality, it is reckless and impractical. We had an open marketplace of ideas; the Left shot it up.
Not only have extreme leftists committed violence in the marketplace of ideas; more scandalous still, mainstream left-wing voices have cheered and made light of the violence. There can be no open marketplace—of ideas or anything else—under such conditions.
Marketplaces require rules, confidence, and common media of exchange. They require, in other words, order. Liberty requires order. One cannot be both free and undisciplined, for instance, or free and ignorant. We know this philosophically, and we also know it intuitively. It's why we don't let toddlers vote.
What we require now is the reassertion of order. We must insist upon the acceptance of basic truths and moral goods, not as the asymptotic goal of endless debate but as the axiomatic foundation without which debate cannot occur. We must foreclose certain antisocial behaviors and suicidal ideologies. We must, to borrow a phrase from Chesterton, stop "the thought that stops thought."
In practical terms, this means we must stigmatize certain evil ideas and behaviors, and we must ostracize people who insist upon them. More practically, this means that people who persist in such disorder should lose their social standing. In certain cases, they should lose their jobs. There must be consequences.
With any political reform, it is wise to err on the side of caution. The offenses that merit such ostracism should be particularly egregious. A good place to begin would be with those who celebrate the murder of an innocent man.

@CityofWeston Thank you City of Weston! What a first class experience. The drop-off was well organized: traffic control was excellent, the line moved along steadily and everyone was cheerful. I also noticed your efforts of keeping the volunteers safe while attending to us. Great event.
