Scott Pelley issues new statement after being fired by CBS for opposing their pro-MAGA bias:
“New management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story. I’ve been told to include assertions that are unverified. To date, in every case, I have managed to ignore these instructions or refuse them.
Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over 60 Minutes interviews is not how this is done.
Finally, incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc. In a case involving one of my stories, the entire program came within 19 minutes of not getting on the air at all.”
@lastmins69@fishin511@krassenstein I feel sorry for you. But I’m moving on. I can tell where my time is wasted. Have the day you voted for, sir. Peace out.
@lastmins69@fishin511@krassenstein Say more. What would you want this “radical”to do with all of us who deeply love our country but won’t rest until all people are treated fairly, justly, and given the freedom to live, love, and work in peace?
I really miss this kind of America.
Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford ran against each other in 1976.
When Ford passed away, Carter gave the eulogy at his funeral.
When Carter passed away, Ford’s son Steve spoke at Carter’s funeral.
Barack Obama and John McCain ran against each other in 2008.
When McCain passed away, Obama gave the eulogy at his funeral.
They disagreed. They debated. They fought hard for what they believed in.
But at the end of the day, they still saw each other as human beings. As Americans.
That is the part we have lost.
Somewhere along the way, disagreement turned into hatred. Politics turned into teams. And people forgot that respect does not mean you agree with someone on everything.
I still believe we can get back to this.
Not because it will be easy. Not because everyone will suddenly think the same.
But because America is supposed to be better than this.
Bipartisan respect used to be possible.
And someday, I pray we remember how to do it again. 🇺🇸💙
@lindahermens@FordJohnathan5 Historically and traditionally, Presidents’ names did not appear on things until they were out of office. It’s just gross for a President to have all these expensive vanity projects, especially when his country’s people are struggling.
@TeahCartel@FordJohnathan5 You are correct. But he’d lose the appeal and that’s why he’s walking away from it. Plus, he’s got all these other vanity projects consuming his time and energy — and that includes Iran
Republicans in North Carolina just proposed a bill that says if a woman is caught with an IUD or attempts to get an abortion then men are allowed to use DEADLY FORCE to try and stop her. They are proposing a bill that will allow men to kill women for using birth control. It’s House Bill 1232. Keith Kidwell is the Republican who proposed the bill. He claims it counts as self defense to use deadly force to stop abortion. This is a man who claims to be pro life. Feel free to give his office a call and let him know how you feel about his opinion.
And for anyone who says “obviously this will never get passed” that’s not the point. The point is it’s fucking insanity that a government official would even try to make a law like this. It’s insanity that there are men out there who are trying to make it legal to kill women for making decisions for their own bodies. This is real and it’s happening right now in front of our eyes.
There is no world in which this is okay.
Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito did not recuse himself from cases involving Trump’s Treasury Department while his own son was secretly working there as a political appointee and attorney.
His son's employment was hidden so thoroughly that his name appears nowhere on the Treasury Department website, he has no public resume, and his bar listings are outdated.
If Alito had recused himself, the secret would have come out. He didn’t recuse himself.
This is a clear conflict of interest, and the American people deserved to know about it.
The federal recusal standard is clear: a justice must step aside in any case where there is a reasonable basis to question whether he or she can be impartial. A justice ruling on cases involving the department where his son works fails that test. The Treasury Department sits at the center of some of the biggest legal fights of this administration, and challenges to Trump’s $1.776 billion January 6 slush fund could be headed to the Court next.
The Supreme Court is the only court in America with no binding code of conduct. That is completely unacceptable, and it has to change NOW.
Congress controls the Power of the Purse, and therefore the Court’s funding. If the Court will not adopt a binding code of conduct with real recusal review on their own, I support withholding their funding until they do.

@TheTNHoller If they’re seeking compensation, it should come from the guy who convinced them to storm the Capitol in the first place. Election denying, cop beating, insurectionists don’t deserve one GD cent of tax payer money!
@Scot89113897@Ericland55@TheRickWilson J6ers duped into “storming the Capitol.” Maybe they should seek compensation from the guy who duped them. Tax payers don’t owe them a GD cent!!!!
@lecternleader Dude, you were duped into “storming the Capitol.” Maybe you should seek compensation from the guy who duped you. Tax payers don’t owe you a GD cent!!!!
#BREAKING: Jansing: “A federal judge is blasting what she calls the incredibly shocking behavior of federal prosecutors, dismissing all charges against a group of immigration protestors known as the Broadview Six…the judge says her trust in the DOJ was broken after learning of prosecutors communication with grand jurors OUTSIDE of the jury room, excusing grand jurors who disagreed with the government’s case, and what she found MOST problematic, was that all of the misconduct was REDACTED out of transcripts.”🤦♀️
McGovern: It took us forever to compensate the victims of 9/11, and here you have this $1.8 billion slush fund that doesn’t go through any committees or hearings. All of a sudden, they have the money to compensate convicted felons—people who attacked our democracy and tried to overthrow a free and fair election.
This is the most corrupt administration in our history.
