NEW: We combed through @DOJFraudDiv's full #CDPAP lawsuit filed yesterday.
It paints the picture of a transition so troubled that workers inside and outside of NY state government repeatedly sounded the alarm — seemingly to no avail.

BREAKING: NY Health Commissioner James McDonald and Medicaid Director Amir Bassiri have been charged in connection with a Medicaid fraud being brought by the feds alleging the Hochul administration rigged the transition of CDPAP services for Public Partnerships, LLC and allowed the company to siphon millions more than it contract allows.

This is what happened when one consumer called PPL’s transition hotline. The call lasted 95 min. It did not go well.
This is PPL’s hotline. If they can’t handle a phone call, how can they handle the care of 280k New Yorkers?

Our response to @NYHealthCommish
Lies about the cdpap transition. They spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to protect @PartnerwithPPL a company that has a horrible track record in other states. Yeah we are people with disabilities speaking out.

@NYSenatorRivera@GovKathyHochul@AndreaSCousins What about the NYers I am personally going to have to lay off because of the changes in CDPAP? Stuff is going to get crazy expensive for them and I plan on giving them your number so you can explain why they no longer have employment. I thought you were for the people...
@NYHammond@empirecenter Transparency delayed is accountability denied. If the DOH has nothing to hide, why resist? The longer records are withheld, the more questions arise about the process. Stakeholders like 1199 should demand answers before irreversible decisions take effect.
@TDCalkins Also since 2015, 1199 seiu has received $150 million in state bailout for their health benefit fund. That is why 1199 is behind the wheel of the PPL one FI model, to unionize those employees and "save" the state money so they don't have to keep receiving bailouts.
@NYCMayor@GovKathyHochul Stop it @NYCMayor, what about her eliminating thousands of Jobs across the city with this CDPAP issue? Or taking choice away from residents of the state? Obviously housing would get a YES, it's a basic need and nobody would argue. NYC needs is a leader to call out BS.
@sarbetter@KaitlynnLisa@CapitalTonight Because it's going to show how 1199 runs health in NY. Just ask @CarlHeastie or @GovKathyHochul, they knew PPL was going to win on April 11th when the budget was late. Why was it late, negotiations between lobbying firms, 1199 and God knows who else. #cashforcontracts
