@XanthaKarp I've gotten a lot of use out of these reagents and am glad to get to share them with the community :) Let me know if you have any questions or want us to send you anything.
My new microPublication is out! We have made transgenes to knock down AID-tagged proteins in a tissue-specific manner. The TIR1 transgenes are based on the Cre/loxP system, and we also made reagents for characterizing the excision pattern of Cre (or Flp) drivers.
Thanks to my former students Brianna, Chloe & Lexi, who helped generate and test these tools, and to microPublication Biology for a smooth review process. The reagents are headed to CGC soon. https://t.co/DmKVvgMIZg
Who were Gilson and Rainin? How many tips does the typical grad student use during their PhD? This and more in this history of the micropipette. https://t.co/B0hzMdsoEo.
Has anyone in my Twitter network bought a replacement LED light source for an old microscope from Nanodyne? If so, would love to hear about your experience with them. https://t.co/IBOUwCH5HM
This is what health insurance companies do. They find a commonly performed procedure costing them money, cover it with red tape, then attribute their actions to physician greed. Aetna did it with cataract surgery last year. This is just the beginning. https://t.co/D48eUGN6Pa
@still_catfish Hopefully you’ve recovered from your injury, but I just saw a tiktok featuring the coolest mobility aid (this company, neowalk, looks rad). https://t.co/Z4TjjlUT0C
Twitter, I need your help. I stacked a ceramic bowl into another one while doing dishes and now they are stuck. How do you remove the smaller bowl without breaking both of them?
Why am I so invested? I’ve tried to fix this for 2 days, and I cannot give up now.
1/5 Our paper is out as a bioRxiv preprint. @sonia_elmouridi and @FaisalMAlkhaldi Like MosSCI, just better. Targeted single-copy and array integration synthesizing new and gradual improvements from the past 15 years across many labs. https://t.co/sgjevIiLfs
New paper from the lab!
We developed a novel human organoid that periodically forms somite-like structures. The spheroid of human iPS cells elongates and starts forming pairs of somites according to the segmentation clock.

@yogeshgoyallab One of the Shiny apps (ie. BoxPlotR or PlotsOfData) could be fun for students to play with. @helenajambor is a great follow for all things dataviz, and I bet you could find some useful resources in her tweets.
