Our peliminary data suggest bitter- & umami-related genes impact food choices, while sweet-related genes may impact #cardiometabolic health.

Interesting findings now out in @Nutrients_MDPI indicate that bitter taste receptor genes 👅🧬may also associate with sweet🍭 and salt🧂perceptions, irrespective of age & BMI.

ICYMI, higher umami (but not bitter) PRS may be associated with lower veg intake in adults🍅🥦🤔
Overall, taste perception profiles were differentially associated with adherence to 3 empirically derived dietary patterns.
These days convey the complexity of taste-diet relations, & suggest the benefit of incorporating taste perception into personalized nutrition guidance.
