We've earned a 2019 Partnership District Award from the National Network of Partnership Schools at Johns Hopkins University! The award honors our efforts around family and community engagement, exemplified by our network of Action Teams for Partnerships, or ATPs.
"My favorite thing at school is to go to the library," said Roslyn, a third-grader at @ksdcascade. Her twin sister, Evelyn, likes to read, too, with 'Dork Diaries' as her favorite. "This girl, Nikki – it’s her diary," Evelyn said. "She reads all the time." #iamksd
In honor of principal appreciation month, we thought we’d have some fun and get to know our principals better.

Audrey Hickman's colleagues at Ridge View Elementary say she's a perfect fit for her job as a kindergarten teacher. She helps students learn important skills and encourages them. She's our Elementary School Teacher of the Year! We surprised her with the award during class.
"I’m really good at sports. The reason why is my energy. I get people on my baseball team riled up. And on my football team. I like being around a group of people instead of just being all by myself." Bren Woods, @ksdcascade#iamksd
"I like to do art. I like peaceful, and sometimes when you do art it’s kind of quiet. Also, art can turn into beautiful things, like mountains and trees. My favorite guy that does it...is Bob Ross. He tells a story while he’s painting." Manny Leavitt, @ksdcascade#iamksd
Thank you @ksdvista and @ksdschools for letting us tour your Breakfast After the Bell program yesterday! You are doing great work for kids! #WAedu#NoKidHungry
"I like to smile. I don’t know, I’m happy. I always try to tell the truth. Even if I did something, I’ll say it and not try to keep it back. If you tell the truth, it’ll end up better than it would have. I like making other people happy." Connor Harper, @ksdhorseheaven#iamksd
My principal Eddie Reed, @eyeonliteracy, spoke at @btbible today. She said, "When I meet my creator he will say to me, 'I sent you my most vulnerable and what did you do for them?' " I can't stop asking myself, what have I done and what else can I do for the most vulnerable? ❤
Each swipe made a difference! @GesaCU members raised $42,300.05 for Kennewick schools in the last year by using their school-branded Gesa debit cards! The money raised supports ASB and DECA at @ksdkamiakin, @ksdkennewick and @ksdsouthridge. Thank you Gesa and its members!
