@PlayingUs wow they wrote a lot of jokes for the DLC. And wow theyRE terrible. Riley has a different role from the other blacks in the game. Strange that J&E are sexless in the main game but E isn’t in the DLC… #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs the ending overshoots on the emotional conflicts. The player is questioning the righteousness of Joel taking Ellie and killing Marlene. Why dilute/distract that with Joel lying to Ellie? #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@AStrotz@PlayingUs Also funny that this is a rare moment where the game doesn’t punish disobedience. I expected the doc to attack me if i got too close. #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@SGamelog@PlayingUs Thanks for this. Monkeys (earlier chapter) are primates though, and they were fine. And do the infected eat at all? Because then giraffes would make a great meal
@PlayingUs where did those giraffes come from? Geographically, is the settings climate really that mild to allow giraffes to survive 20 years of winters? What about the undead? #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs Completely agree with ellie “after all we’ve been through” this relentless killer NOW wants to abort mission? Its a very strange dissonance that likely alienates some players #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs the giraffe scene is a unique one in the game because there are no prompts for you to move on. The music continues, the giraffes hang around, even ellie is quiet. Makes you think twice about leaving. #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs Ellie as a player character is so much more emotive and expressive than Joel (talks to herself a lot). Its a nice change, but gets annoying at some point. Joel gives too little diegetic feedback, ellie too much. #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs the zombies we meet here wear winter clothes. But zombies dont dress themselves. Is this a blunder by the creators, or is the location always wintery irl? #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs I was almost going to say something about the creators being against animal cruelty- once again, you cannot shoot the monkeys. Big change this chapter, but only for Ellie. Maybe Joel specifically is a vegan/ animal activist? #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs these uni dorms don’t look like they’ve been affected much by the end of the world. There’s also a suspicious amount of pills lying around. Just sayin... #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs I put the game down without pausing and started texting. A few minutes later Ellie asked why I was just standing around. a mechanism by the game that reminds you to keep up the pace #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs re stock character models: the first group of zombies that charges you at uni were all the same model for me, and all made the same screams and dancemoves when they got flamed #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@secondlastofus@PlayingUs Actually this is something I can get behind for once. The dam is practically the only place where people are accepting and nice to each other, and work together to rebuild— they’re upholding old American values #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs finally some proper parenting by Joel, but more telling-off than anything. I still struggle to get behind their relationship— if I were Ellie I would more than done with Joel by now #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@secondlastofus@PlayingUs Referring particularly to when Joel and Sam are trapped together, J is very friendly and supportive compared to similar situations with ellie
