I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
Risk/reward seems attractive again.
Lots of cheap stocks with durable competitive advantages that are going to crush numbers for the next 6-12 quarters.
Time will tell!
Gavin didn't name specific tickers—it's a general comment on attractive risk/reward for high-quality growth stocks (his usual wheelhouse: tech/AI/semiconductors).
From his latest 13F + recent comments/podcasts on memory crunch & AI infra:
- **$MU** (Micron): Cheap memory leader, durable moat in HBM/DRAM, AI demand crunch persists, set to crush numbers.
- **$NVDA**: Core AI GPU dominance + moat, often cited as compelling on valuation vs growth.
- **$ALAB** (Astera Labs): Top holding, critical connectivity for AI data centers, strong competitive edge & growth.
Likely also optical/infra names like $CIEN, $COHR, $LITE that fit "cheap + durable advantages."
This isn't advice—markets move fast, time will tell as he says. DYOR.
