@INSXTRADER @VickyRichterUSA Other than the invention of penicillin, the jet engine, the TV, the telephone, tarmac, high strength carbon fibre, the rechargeable lithium ion battery and a million other things beside. The UK doesn't only contribute to modern society - it started it ๐คฃ
@DegenToDisciple@MoneyHacks16@JamOz1980@2147mill You're missing the point. You have to live somewhere. Rent is the same (or more expensive) than a mortgage so what valid reason would you choose to rent over buy? If you plan to live with parents/someone else then it's a valid position otherwise buying is the only right option
@2147mill It's not an unpopular opinion - it's a stupid opinion. Where do you live? Sounds like you're living with your parents otherwise you're burning rent money
@cashflow_king94 That only works if you don't need anywhere to live....rents are higher than mortgages and that's dead money. With homeownership, at least there is an asset
@ACTBrigitte Funnily enough, only one country has invoked NATO article 5. Hundreds of Brits died in support of the USA. I don't understand how you don't see it - you were the acknowledged leader of the west which has just been thrown in the trash
@realpeteyb123 I am thankful to the USA for the help they provided the UK in WW2 including the lend-lease act (USA in general - nothing to do with you). Are you also thankful for the 3 tours I did in Afghanistan when your country invoked article 5 and we did what allies are supposed to do?
@BenGrahamStocks Strengthening of the board including the appointment of Lord Houghton (ex chief of the defence staff). It could all come to nothing of course but if it comes off it could be massive. It may be far fetched but if it reaches 1% of palantir Mcap, we're in the billions
@BenGrahamStocks Confirmation of tender and adoption onto the DDAD framework for the MoD, opening the chance to tender for multi-year contracts. The apparent commercial realisation of project ixian which is said to begin in Dec this year. big contract = big re-rate?
@Jenny_1884 Also, I will have to work until at least 68 to get a state pension. That's 10s of thousands of pounds more a current pensioner will get above what I will get if we die at the same age. I therefore pay a substantial amount into a private pension
@Jenny_1884 It's more nuanced than that so try and put your critical thinking cap on for a change. Did you have everything easier? No, not by a long shot. Do the next generations have everything easier? No, clearly not. most people can't afford a house now due to how expensive they are
