Not a ton I love on tomorrow’s slate, but I wanted to take a couple shots in this early game.

I’m expecting a very high scoring matchup.

Arike is one of the streakiest scorers in the league, but she’s coming off two strong performances and I like her chances to keep it rolling against the Sparks.

Over their last 10 games, the Sparks have allowed:

• Most opponent 3PA (46.7% of Arike’s points)

• Most opponent points

• 3rd most restricted area FGM allowed (27% of Arike’s points)

• 4th highest opponent unassisted basket percentage (37% of Arike’s points)

For the season, the Sparks rank bottom five at defending spot up, transition, and off-screen actions, where Arike scores 47% of her points. They’ve also been below average at limiting production from PnR ball handlers and at the free throw line, which account for another 32% of her scoring.

She’s scored 20+ points in 4 of 7 games against bottom five restricted area defenses this season. Love this spot for her to stay hot.

Nneka Ogwumike has been on a tear lately. She’s cleared this line in five straight games and gets another favorable matchup against the Wings.

During this stretch, the volume has been excellent. She’s attempted at least 15 shots in four of those five games, with one game seeing 13 attempts.

That kind of volume is tough to ignore for a scorer like Ogwumike.

Without Plum, and against a defense that allows top five production to PnR roll man and ranks top five in points allowed in the paint, she’s gone over this line in 4 of 5 games. Her only miss was a 17 point outing where she played just 26 minutes because of a blowout.

I’m also taking Paige Bueckers assists.

She’s been generating excellent playmaking volume lately, recording 12+ potential assists in each of her last five games, including games with 16 and 17 potential assists. Against teams that rank top five in pace and top five in assists allowed, she’s gone over in 2 of 3 games.

It’s a similar story with Erica Wheeler.

She’s recorded 11+ potential assists in 4 of her last 5 games and is coming off a 14 potential assist performance.

It isn’t the perfect matchup, but the assist volume is too strong to ignore. With the pace and scoring environment I’m expecting, I like both playmakers to have opportunities.

As long as Burton is getting assists, it's fine. She is arguably the most ELITE PG & POA defender in the league.

Some games she is required to be a top scorer, but it isn't her mandated in her job description.

And she made all-defense for a reason.

Stewie has been one of the most consistent stars in the W this season, averaging 22ppg & 8rpg; putting her season average at 30 PR per game.

The matchup against Indiana sets up nicely. Lexie Hull will most likely be her defensive matchup and while she’s a tough defender and brings plenty of energy, she’s not the type of physical interior presence that can consistently slow down a 6’4 elite scoring forward like Stewart. Her size, footwork, and mid-range game create major problems for the Fever defense.

Stewart already showed she can take advantage of this matchup, posting 30 pts & 8 rebs against Indiana earlier this season while attacking the rim and getting to the free throw line (18 FTA).

With heavy minutes, elite usage, and rebounding upside in a competitive matchup, Stewie has everything needed to clear this number.
