I'm saddened that we're still talking about 'the poor' and 'poor communities' as though 'they' are outside the church and outside of the Conference. Each time people are othered in this way, the church excludes its own people. #Methodistconf
@pamjweb Internal DWP errors cost more to the public purse than fraud. There's hidden costs such as to the courts service, due to tribunals, and to the NHS, due to physical and mental health issues caused to claimant when lack of benefit means our needs are not met. Yet we're blamed!
I was just checking the eligibility criteria for the disability qualified member of a first tier tribunal. The answer is below. It also appears that the DWP consider solicitors to be an underrepresented group π€―π€ #EDI#DWP#PIP
Being awake for most of the night was not in my plans, but then the hotel fire alarm at 2.30am wasn't in anyone's plan! Thankfully it was a false alarm, but my adult offspring's seizures began instantly, continuing for 50 mins. Now in recovery phase. #epilepsy
Holy Trinity crafts as part of St Andrew's Pudsey's church weekend. A Trinity plant pot: the pot is a person, the wrapper is the love of God surrounding it, the face is like Jesus (lots of artistic license), the soil like the Spirit - from which fruit can grow!
Very exciting news - we are recruiting. We're looking for two Research Associates to join our team. Closing date is 31st March. Find out more and apply via our website https://t.co/a5J3z8JxuC

When you tell DWP in a form that your adult child can't talk on the phone and they set up a phone appointment π€¦ Then you tell them in advance but they still call and don't know what to do when they can't talk on the phone π€¦π€¦ #AccessFail
@pamjweb It was a phone call lasting 1hr 41 mins. The report reached DWP just 40 mins afterwards. π€·ββοΈ I never thought I would have to explain why it's hard to stand up and walk with dislocated hips, and various other dislocated joints, quite so many times in under 2 hours π
4) car parked in the way at crem, blocking access to accessible parking.
5) wheelchair hoist stopped working when arrived at crem
6) wheelchair rolled out of boot and badly bruised my leg (still stings) just before service.
Funeral went well despite it all. #ThankYouGod!
This morning was a challenge! Some things not quite to plan 1) Forgot I was leading morning prayer until 7.50am, it starts at 8am. I started a couple of minutes late.
2) coffee machine didn't work properly.
3) road works in front of church I was to take funeral at, not parking.
And we have 100 signatures. The level of response shows how important the role of Minister of State for Disabled People is and how the role needs to be reintroduced immediately.
Thank also to @lydimoo, @Just_a_Mo, and @corvidgrave and everyone who shared. Keep up the good work.
@KatyRoseEvans@touretteshero This is such an amazing illustration of your experience. Seeing this shows how disjointed and complicated navigating our healthcare system can be at a time when people are least able to cope with its complexity. Thank you!
There's a reason why, as a wheelchair user, I set off a couple of hours early to take a funeral. The @YorkshireBuses_ no. 9 service didn't stop for me in Pudsey. Now I have to wait half an hour in this hideous weather to see if another bus stops.
@Just_a_Mo@johnpringdns A major problems for those of us who can walk but not far & stand but not long is increasing lack of seats & long walks between platforms & to lifts. As we know but 'they' dont seem to, not all disabilities are the same & not all disabilities are obvious.
