@digby56 Which is why Democrats need to quit pretending they'll get rewarded electorally for fixing Republican messes. “Eat your veggies” is a loser of a message every time.
@StateAbolition@JayBeaThree @Magpie1928 @Redistrict Not if it's Peltola versus Palin. We already know how that would go down (assuming nothing changes).
@DavidOAtkins I don't think that explains it entirely. *Some* rich liberals surely do want their ideas to win. But *none* (or very few) are doing it this way, which tells me it's seen as not just ineffective but *wrong.* Who wants to be the Sheldon Adelson of the left?
@DavidOAtkins I wonder if it's just the one weakness that unifies just about everyone left of center: the attitude that their truth is so true that everyone will believe it if only we can reach them. Dumping money like this means admitting their ideas won't win on the merits alone.
@DrNerdLove My personal ADHD lifehack is to drink coffee straight out of a Nespresso. That way the entire cycle from “I should drink coffee” to drinking coffee *usually* fits inside my attention span. (Though occasionally I still find cold coffee sitting there in the evening.)
@daralebrun@SoCalLakerGirl @kesayers @sarah_in_ny Sorry, must've missed when “$2,000 check” became a figure of speech like “just a sec.” Last I knew, people still thought it meant “check in the amount of two thousand dollars.”
Anyway, have fun explaining fine print to angry voters.
(Also, why do we want Trump to share credit?)
@JhonBidon @kevinrns@jtemperton That … doesn't seem like a crazy amount of money for a professional license. You should hear how much it costs to drive a New York cab.
Probably doesn't take long to make up the difference (especially after maintenance costs).
