This week, I announced $6 billion to decarbonize our industrial sector—the largest effort of its kind in the U.S.
We’re going further by supporting 100+ American-made clean energy projects in coal communities to boost manufacturing and good-paying jobs.

College of Charleston Men’s Basketball alumnus Canyon Barry ’16 (@cbarry719) has been chosen to represent USA Basketball at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris! He will compete on the 3x3 men’s team. Son of NBA hall of famer Rick Barry, Canyon played for the Cougars from 2013-2016 while earning his BS in physics. You may remember his unique approach to shooting free throws—shooting them underhanded, or “granny-style”! During his junior season, he averaged just shy of 20 points per game. Mr. Barry continued to play basketball while attending graduate school at the University of Florida, where he earned SEC Sixth Man of the Year and national Academic All-American of the Year honors during the 2016-17 season. He graduated summa cum laude with his MS in nuclear engineering in 2019. Mr. Barry’s professional basketball exploits saw him play for teams in Finland, Czech Republic, and China. He most recently played for the Iowa Wolves of the NBA G League. Today, he serves as a System Engineer for L3Harris Technologies, Inc., and he resides in Bradenton, FL. Best of luck in Paris this summer!
Every year, @CERAWeek allows researchers and scientists to come together, think through tomorrow's energy challenges, and shape a brighter future.
I’m so excited for what the clean energy transition has in store.

Second paper on wildfire smoke from our @stanfordecholab group out this week. This one quantifies the contribution of wildfire to US PM2.5 trends. We find much broader wildfire influence than previously estimated, on both avgs and extremes. Quick thread. https://t.co/uMpR0zYV3V
Climate change isn't a future threat; it's a present reality. That's the bad news. Here's the good news: we have the solutions and we know what to do. There's still time to rewrite our future if we act now. (image by @ed_hawkins)
With four days with highs in the upper 90s to 100 and counting, this is DC and Baltimore's worst September heat wave on record. We lay out all the data here: https://t.co/2v9yC2eDDc
